Young people who live in Yarra are welcome to join Mzuri Dance for Afrobeats and Creative dance sessions each Monday at the Florence Peel Centre, Young St Fitzroy (behind the Fitzroy Town Hall.)

3.45-4.45pm for Primary School ages. 

4.45-5.15pm Young people program.

Prepare: Please bring a water bottle and wear clothes you can comfortably move in.

What is ‘We are Colourful’?

Open to all young people, ‘We are Colourful’ is a series of free dance sessions facilitated by local artists and community youth leaders to connect young people to fun, easy going dance sessions that will allow them to celebrate their individuality, to express their culture, tell stories, share their experiences of growing up and COVID times, share their creative ideas and share skills in dance, music and choreography.

Join this series of fun, creative sessions to dance, (also sing and drum), and have the opportunity to perform throughout the year with other kids, make new friends and most of all have fun!!

Classes run through all of 2022 in the School Term.

‘We are Colourful’ is a partnership between Ayel Akot, Suzie Watts, Mzuri Young Leaders and Mzuri Dance ArtisTree Fund.
