Yarra is proud of its strong links to the Wurundjeri community, the Traditional Owners of the land on which the Yarra region is located.
Through a variety of special arts and cultural projects we highlight the importance of Indigenous cultural and social history. In particular through projects such as Smith Street Dreaming - an annual outdoor event promoting music, dance and community, and the Koorie Games – a series of events promoting traditional activities with school children.
In 2018, we launched a Marker for the Stolen Generations in recognition of the 20th Anniversary of National Sorry Day.
