Call Out for new Aboriginal Arts & Culture Festival
Friday 11 March 2022
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultures are at the heart of Yarra City Council.
Australia is home to the oldest continuing living culture in the entire world. We respect and embrace Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and heritage.
Yarra City Council is creating a new festival to celebrate the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and arts, in June 2022.
The festival will include long standing feature events such as Smith Street Dreaming, provide opportunities to bring projects that are in progress under the festival umbrella and invite the community to develop and present new projects across all artforms.
We invite artists, producers, and promoters to submit an EOI to be a part of this new festival.
The commissioning of this pilot festival is made possible with the extraordinary funding from the Victorian Government under the Rapid Activation Program to support the community to recover the city’s vibrancy arising from COVID-19.
