What we are doing to keep you safe in our venues
Friday 29 October 2021
Our council venues are opening soon, and we can’t wait to welcome you back!
In preparing for re-opening, we have improved our operations to ensure our spaces are safe for you and your groups to enjoy.
Some of these improvements include:
- Calculated the capacity of all our venues to comply with 1 person per 4m2
- Deep cleans of all venues before re-opening
- Cleaning between each booking at Community Halls and Town Halls
- Installation of current COVID signage & QR codes
- Removal of communal cutlery, crockery and glassware
- Providing a stock of upon entry points & throughout venue:
- Face masks
- Hand sanitiser
- Disinfectant wipes
- All venues ventilation systems have been audited (and adjusted if necessary) to ensure fresh air supply
- All Council employees and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated to enter our buildings
- Venue Officers have been trained on infection control, undergone COVID Marshall training, and are constantly updated on any operational procedures based on current COVID requirements that affect their role.
- Introduced a special conditions checklist which outlines the applicable restrictions at the time of your booking to help you plan your event
- Requiring all attendees to wear masks. Masks may only be removed briefly for eating and drinking.
- Encouraging everyone to bring their own individual food and drinks (rather than sharing)
- Requiring a COVID Check-In Marshall at all bookings to ensure attendees check in and show proof of vaccination status. Sometimes this will be a Council staff member and sometimes the group will need to appoint a member to perform this role.
