If you work in the arts, entertainment or media industries, what impact has COVID-19 had on you?

Event cancellations and postponements, venue closures and travel bans as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, are having unprecedented impacts on the creative industries.

Many workers in these industries already deal with the precarious nature of freelance and contract work, with no formal paid leave entitlements.

National arts industry organisations and peak bodies the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), the Australian Festival Association (AFA), the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) and the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) are working with state and federal ministries and government departments to understand these impacts and represent them in detail, so that government at all levels is in the best position to consider urgent policy and funding responses.

To advocate for immediate action and build a strong case for support, these impacts need to be understood comprehensively.
