Monday 05 August 2019
We are pleased to announce Muhubo Sulieman will be the next Artist-in-Residence in the Hugo Wertheim Studio in Richmond.
While in residence, Muhubo will use the time and space to plan and deliver workshops and continue her project to make a hut with community members.
Muhubo Sulieman is a weaver who specialises in handmade traditional rugs, huts and bags as well as many other things involving weaving and Henna Art.
She currently hosts Traditional Weaving workshops at the Community Grocer in Carlton and workshops at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House.
This residency is part of Yarra City Council’s Room to Create Program, which aims to keep the arts in Yarra by providing support for eligible artists or groups through its Room to Create Artist-in-Residency program.
