Corner Alexandra Parade and Young Street, Fitzroy

This aquatic-themed mural on the façade of Fitzroy Pool has been created by internationally renowned French street artists, Blo and Jaws.

Inspiration for this minimal abstract work came from the light, reflection, movement and colour of this popular public swimming pool.

This mural project was commissioned following the positive feedback Council received about the temporary yarn bombing installation organised at the pool for the Christmas celebrations in 2012.

As a longer team creative work enhancing the Fitzroy Pool, this mural was well received by the community and Council chose to extend the mural works across the facility’s façade, adding Stephen Baker’s sustainable transport work in December 2013.
