Melbourne Pride - A Road to Pride

Sunday 13 February 2022

An exciting event is coming!

The Victorian State Government recently confirmed their commitment and funding for an exciting and commemorative Pride event; a one-day street festival to be held on Sunday 13 February, 2022 on Gertrude and Smith Street in the City of Yarra.

Named "Melbourne Pride – A Road to Pride", this is an initiative designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality within Victoria. Fairer Victoria has contracted Midsumma as the event delivery partner.

Melbourne Pride 2021 is a multi-generational and intersectional celebration; a State Government initiative designed to celebrate and commemorate Victorian LQBTQIA+ history and the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality with events and activities all over the state of Victoria. Melbourne Pride will be a large-scale, one-day street festival on Sunday 13 February 2022 in the city's inner north and will be delivered by Midsumma. This large-scale, family-friendly event will feature three stages located on the outer corners of the main precinct and an activation of Peel Street Park. The event will showcase live performances, music, circus, keynote speakers, activities, community stalls and interactive demonstrations. This event is intended to have a significant state-wide impact with live-streaming and pre-recorded content to allow people to engage from home.

Due to the large scale of this event and changing COVID19 restrictions, we will continue to provide updates about this event on this page.
