Anthroposphere is an algorithmic artwork that converts ambient air quality data into sound. It can be thought of as a synthetic orchestra, with air pollutants as the instruments and our carbon footprint as the conductor.

In its first rendition, the Anthroposphere algorithm has been used to create 37.8136° S, 144.9631° E; a musical composition made entirely by 2020 air quality data from Melbourne, Australia.

The album was made with a City of Yarra Small Project Grant, mixing & mastering by Pat Telfer, and support from the Melbourne Lung Health Research Centre. The Anthroposphere algorithm was created by Daniel Kotsimbos and Michael Kotsimbos.
