Creative COVID-19 grants update

This fund has now closed.

As part of our $7.46 million community and business support package, Council has supported two creative grants programs.

Creative Business COVID-19 Quick Response Grants and Creative Community Quick Response Grants provided a total of $185k to support Yarra’s creative community to adapt, create and develop during this period of physical isolation.

These grants have now been awarded, distributing 56 Creative Community grants and 16 Creative Business grants to support our local creative community.

Successful Creative Community projects include a public art window installation, online story time for Rainbow Families, free online dance sessions, live music streaming, on-line rap battles, a sewing club and many more creative outcomes.

Successful creative business projects include support for online shopping platforms, equipment and support for live streaming of music and art classes, virtual art tours and digital strategy development.

An additional $4k was added to the Creative Community grant program by two generous community members who wished to see more artists supported through this program. If you would like to contribute directly to this grant program, via a special fund set up through the Australian Cultural Fund, you can find out more details here.
