Co-edited by Elena Gomez and Rosie Isaac, the upcoming issue of un Magazine is presciently themed ‘care’, the importance of which is only amplified by the current crisis we find ourselves in: 'Care is effort. It is a loaded word. Attention — to one's artistic practice, to reading — requires care, as does our navigation of the world and our relationships within it. But care is also political, racialised and gendered. What does care look like?'

un Magazine is an independent contemporary art magazine published bi-annually in Narrm/Melbourne. Normally distributed to arts organisations, galleries and education institutions around Australia, the magazine is currently unable to be distributed via the usual channels.

You can subscribe to the print edition of un Magazine to receive a copy delivered to your door, which also includes a special, limited-edition fold-out cover poster by artist Katie West. By subscribing to the print edition you will also be contributing to the sustainability of un Magazine, and helping them to continue to support writers and artists.

‘We do know that reading this issue is an invitation to learn, teach, think, feel in ways that we need right now. The artists and writers gave us that generously even if, at the time, they didn’t know it. For everything that this issue cannot be, we hope, at the very least, that it allows you, our readers and the art community, to open up some spaces and think about the myriad gentle, and radical, ways that care and art appear in our world.’
