The Yarra Youth Services Artist in Residence (AIR) program presents annual opportunities to early career artists aged 20 – 25 years to develop their studio practice, build workshop facilitation experience, collaborate and continue creative conversations with peers and mentors.

The studio space accommodates up to five artists, depending on their practice. Successful candidates will engage in a shared residency in the studio space at Yarra Youth Service’s Block Studios in Fitzroy, free of charge. In return, artists will deliver weekly two-hour workshops during term time, with Yarra Youth Arts staff support, to young people in the City of Yarra on a rotating basis.

It is expected that the delivery of these workshops, in house, are delivered for free and are used as a platform to build artist’s facilitation and workshop experiences. Yarra Youth Services will also work with the Artist in Residence towards securing exhibiting and other creative opportunities during their residency.

Applications close Monday 7 October 2019.
