The Print Council of Australia (PCA) is a national not-for-profit member organisation that promotes contemporary Australian fine art printmaking and print media, including artist books, zines and works on paper, and provides support and advocacy for artists.
Each year the Print Council of Australia commissions Australian and New Zealand artists from an open call to create a new, original limited print edition for the PCA Print Commission.
In 2018, the finalists are Elizabeth Banfield, Chris Hagen, Kyoko Imazu, Jo Lankester, Glenda Orr, Dianne Longley and Sue Poggioli.
Artists were selected through a two-part open application process. This year the judges were Mychael Barratt, President, Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, UK, and Akky van Ogtrop, President, Print Council of Australia Inc.
The seven prints from the 2018 Commission will be unveiled at venues across Australia in September. Victorian audiences can view the PCA Print Commission exhibition at Firestation Print Studio in Armadale.
Commissioned prints are produced in editions of up to fifty and are printed on Canson Editions paper, generously supplied by Canson Australia Pty Ltd. The PCA gratefully acknowledges Canson’s ongoing sponsorship of the program.
To acquire prints from the 2018 commission download the order form and return it by email or post to PCA Office by October 31st - prices start at $250 for PCA members (non-member rates available).
Prints allocated on a first come first served basis so don't delay! The sold prints are distributed in mid-November 2018
The Print Council of Australia is based in the City of Yarra and supported by the Room to Create program.
