A huge congratulations goes to circus company A Good Catch of ‘Casting Off’ which won the coveted Total Theatre & Jacksons Lane Award for Circus at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The contemporary circus work was first developed and presented in 2017 at Sidesault at The Melba: a Festival of Experimental Circus presented by Circus Oz. Sidesault at the Melba is a recipient of a Creative Yarra grant through the City of Yarra.

Led by the Total Theatre Network, the Total Theatre Awards at Edinburgh Festival recognises Independent Artists & Companies creating innovative artist led theatre. It involves a rigorous two-stage peer to peer assessment and judging process, bringing together 50 international artists, critics, presenters, producers and academics to debate and award excellence.

Australian companies Casus Circus (‘You & I’) and Company 2 (‘Assembly’) were also shortlisted for the award.

Side Sault at The Melba 2018 runs 11 - 21 October 2018 More information here
‘Casting Off’ will return to the Melba Speigeltent for a Melbourne Fringe season 20 - 23 September Tickets here
