Pressed for Time

Pressed for Time
Deborah Klein, Pressed for Time, Archival pigment print, 2017

Pressed for Time is part of an ongoing exploration of the absence of women from history, in this case, of Chinese women during the Australian Gold rushes. A detailed study of the period was undertaken, however the women could equally originate from any place or time, including the present.

Pressed for Time was produced and acquired through the Print Council of Australia’s Annual Print Commission in 2017.

Deborah Klein is represented by 4 works in the City of Yarra collection. Other works include the hand coloured linocuts Red Lacewinged Woman (2010), Scoliacma bioclora Moth Mask (2009) and Digama marmorea Moth Mask (2009).
