Mira Oosterweghel uses movement, gesture and visceral bodies to explore ideas of queer indeterminacy and affect. Often putting the body of both the performer and the viewer in uncomfortable positions, her practice seeks to disorientate normative or institutionalized understandings of the body. Her methodology is rooted in process and takes the form of drawing, collaging, experimental gestures, movements and films, as well as text.
Mira Oosterweghel graduated from Monash University with First Class Honours in 2013. Mira has exhibited her work in various artist run initiatives, institutions and festivals.
