Mobile MESS arrives at Abbotsford Convent! Experience the magic of electronic sound creation in this fun hands-on workshop with MESS (Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio). This workshop will investigate the science of sound through interactive experiments using synthesisers. Create wild sounds and make your own beats while you learn the basics of synthesis. This workshop will introduce you to some of the basic physical properties of sound through to making your own sounds and creating an electronic soundscape together.

Suitable for: Young people aged 8-12 years and their parent/guardian. No prior musical experience is necessary to take part in this workshop. 

When: Sunday 28th November. Workshops running at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. 
Duration: 1 hour per workshop

Cost: $15 +GST per child. Parent/guardian attends free of charge.

This workshop is fully accessible. Please notify when you book if you require Auslan interpretation or if you have access requirements. This workshop is designed to be a collaborative journey into synthesis between a young person (aged 8-12) and their chosen adult friend (parent or guardian). Parents/guardians must attend the entire duration of the workshop. Places are strictly limited and age range is fixed. 

All people attending this workshop will be required to adhere to Abbotsford Convent’s Covid-safe Plan.
