"Fire in the Head" by Peter Mumford

Fire in the Head is a new play by  R. Johns exploring the life of the forgotten Kelly, Kate-sister of the iconic Ned Kelly.

Directed by Rodney Hall, twice Miles Franklin Award winner, opera and theatre director, the play will have its first public rehearsed readings presented at the garden amphitheatre in Alphington.

Actors include Adam May, Anita Torrance, Gregory J. Fryer and Melodie Reynolds-Diarra. This project examines violence against women in the volatile and intriguing story of Kate Kelly. This work set deep in the landscape of Australia , shows Kate investigating her own and her family’s lives, in a haunting and lyrical style. 

Fire in the Head shows on 27 and 28 of February at the Alphington Amphitheatre.
