Showing of works by Sean Miles and Bon Mott

Sunday 01 November 2020 - Friday 14 May 2021

Cosmic rays: my own flesh and blood. Documentation: Jean Baulch

Sean and Bon invite you to see how gender diverse and First Nations identifying creatives in the City of Yarra are contributing to positive social change by challenging dominant normative ideas about personal identity and challenges traditional Western educational protocols for framing and installing artworks.

The ongoing residency at 226 Gertrude St and 2SP is process-based. The installations activated by performance and atmospheric changes are an ongoing collaboration from our cohabitation at 226 since COVID lockdown one year ago. Strands of our individual practices and different projects are woven togetherat 226 Gertrude St.

This project was supported by a City of Yarra STIMULATE grant.

Bon and Sean respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate, the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay respect to their Elders, past, present and becoming, acknowledging that sovereignty has never been ceded in this ancient land, sky and sea.
