Hamer Singers is a not-for-profit choir directed by renowned choral director Jonathan Grieves-Smith.  Before the Morning Star is the first concert of the year presented by the Hamer Singers, to be held in St Ignatius Church, Richmond, on Sunday 31 March at 3.30pm.

Before the Morning Star

Internationally renowned Scottish composer, Sir James MacMillan, has written an extraordinary collection of motets, known as the Strathclyde Motets, burning with faith and refracting the language of the great Renaissance composers through a contemporary prism and the inflections of Scottish folk music. These are the exquisite successors to fellow Scot Robert Ramsey’s three exquisite motets composed in the first years of the 17th century while organist at Trinity College, Cambridge.
