ichikawaedward is an ongoing collaborative project between artists Ichikawa Lee and Joshua Edward, est.2017 based in Naarm (Melbourne). The artists practice span mediums of sculpture, installation, performance, photography and creative writing. IchikawaEdward adopts a vast range of materials and process that employ new technologies and fabrication systems, in efforts to achieve a nuanced materiality that operates both poetically and politically. -

Artist-in-Residence: Muhubo Sulieman
We are pleased to announce Muhubo Sulieman will be the next Artist in Residence in the Hugo Wertheim Studio in Richmond. While in residence, Muhubo will use the time and space to plan and deliver workshops and continue her project to make a hut with community members. Muhubo Sulieman is a weaver who specialises in handmade traditional rugs, huts and bags as well as many other things involving weaving and Henna Art. She currently hosts Traditional Weaving workshops at the Community Grovcer in Carlton and workshops at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House. This residency is part of Yarra City Council’s Room to Create Program, which aims to keep the arts in Yarra by providing support for eligible artists or groups through its Room to Create Artist-in-Residency program. -

SEVENTH Gallery eliminate exhibition fees
SEVENTH gallery have announced that from July 2018, exhibition fees have been eliminated and all exhibiting artists will be compensated a fee for showing. Proposals are now being accepted for the next 12 months of programming.
