Be Free
Corner Lennox Street and Victoria Street, Richmond
This mural was commissioned by Off The Kerb Gallery, who were engaged by Council to curate a work at this prominent site following the completion of a major upgrade to the corner of Lennox Street and Victoria Street.
Created by artist Be Free, the work depicts a bamboo forest. This simple motif connects with the cultural identity of the area and Council’s plans for proposed greening of Victoria Street.
Be Free’s colourful style and imagery of playful young girls can be seen in many locations around Melbourne.
Predominantly using paper paste-ups and paint, occasionally the artist also employs 2D and 3D objects like playing cards, string and even a table and chair to create unique street art installations.
