Visual Arts

The Visual Arts Program includes a diverse exhibition program, a public art program and our Art and Heritage Collection, as well as working closely with Yarra’s extensive network of galleries and artist run spaces.

We are committed to providing exhibiting opportunities for artists, as well as inspiring encounters with visual art for all.

Exhibitions are programmed for between one and six months duration depending on the space. A fee is paid to successful applicants to contribute towards the development and presentation costs.

Applicants may submit one exhibition application to each of the five locations. A call-out is done annually for the program.

Expression of interest

We encourage proposals for innovative and engaging exhibitions through our annual Expression of Interest call out at:

As well as in the four outdoor light boxes at Carlton Library

Artists, organisations and groups can apply to exhibit annually. More information is available on our Opportunities page.
